Clouds Part 2: Evening

Hi all!  I have been longing to get back to blogging but I still haven’t decided how to add more space on here, so as of now, I still can’t add any more photos, but I do have lots of projects to share when I do!  I guess I’m just enjoying the fall weather here lately, reading, cooking, and enjoying our dogs.  My sister’s wedding is coming up in a few weeks so I’m also preparing for that.   Here are some pics I meant to share a long time ago but I do enjoy keeping them around longer to get the feeling like I’m back in Florida on the beach.  These are my favorite pics of the clouds in the evenings; so so gorgeous.   Here are some more from our Florida trip if you’d like to see.  Hope we all have a lovely rest of the week! We’re going to check out the new Thor movie this weekend so I’m excited for that. what are ya’ll up to these days? She sells sea shells

I love the beach and St. Petersberg is the ultimate beach for me. It’s quiet and goes on for miles.  I loved walking barefoot down the sandy shore and collecting shells (Check out the project I did with shells here!) I imagine myself doing this everyday someday.  I was able to let go of all my anxieties and blockages here and just be. It was the most peaceful and grounded I’ve felt in a while.  These are a few of my favorite images that remind me of that feeling.sea shells DSC_0851 DSC_0852 DSC_0861 DSC_0872 DSC_0873 DSC_0871 DSC_0877 DSC_0875 DSC_0938 DSC_0941 DSC_0979 DSC_0978 DSC_0015 DSC_0032_2 DSC_0033_2 DSC_0036_2 DSC_0037_2 DSC_0045_2 DSC_0058_2 DSC_0054_2

DIY Sea shell decor

So I just spent a week at the beach in Florida and several mornings I went out early to collect shells.  I even used my tote that I painted to keep them in and it worked perfectly!

I love the varied shapes and sizes of the shells and found that I even like the imperfect ones; isn’t that just life.  I spray painted the shells gold and silver and used a jar from our wedding to hold them in the bathroom.

I love it! It reminds me of our time there and how much I want to go back!painted sea shells DSC_0004 DSC_0003 DSC_0008 DSC_0009 DSC_0011

Ten Photos

1-4 taken in the park near our house. 5 our backyard tree that survived the drought. 6 our dogs looking for the next door beagle through the fence. 7-8 horse apples in the park. 9 blt lunch. 10 the trail to the park.

Hi all!  This week, or rather for ten days, I’m challenging myself to take pictures daily and post ten of them here.

I have always loved photography and took a few classes in high school.  My grandfather was a great photographer and I love looking at those old photos of my dad, aunt, uncles and grandmother.  When I graduated high school my grandmother even gave me my grandpas camera (he had died suddenly when I was 17), but I found in college I didn’t have much time to keep photographing things.  Of course I took a few rolls of my cats when I first got them as kittens in college but other than that I felt it was a hobby I didn’t have time for, unfortunately.

I’m learning that in life you have to make time, set aside and focus yourself, dedicate even, to those hobbies, the things you love.  Thus my blog here.  I’m ready to do that.  It might not come naturally for me to have that discerning “eye” but I certainly am learning and love pressing down the shutter button when I feel inspired.

These are all taken with my iPhone and the ones that are edited I did with the Afterglow app (which I’m luvin’).  Happy trails ya’ll!

I need to mention today as I’m finishing this post that it is a sad day for my husband’s family as they grieve the loss of his grandmother.  My heart and prayers are with you all *Love Jess
