Hi all! I have been longing to get back to blogging but I still haven’t decided how to add more space on here, so as of now, I still can’t add any more photos, but I do have lots of projects to share when I do! I guess I’m just enjoying the fall weather here lately, reading, cooking, and enjoying our dogs. My sister’s wedding is coming up in a few weeks so I’m also preparing for that. Here are some pics I meant to share a long time ago but I do enjoy keeping them around longer to get the feeling like I’m back in Florida on the beach. These are my favorite pics of the clouds in the evenings; so so gorgeous. Here are some more from our Florida trip if you’d like to see. Hope we all have a lovely rest of the week! We’re going to check out the new Thor movie this weekend so I’m excited for that. what are ya’ll up to these days?
A couple weeks ago I was able to go to New York to visit my brother. It was just my second trip to NY and there is so much to see! I absolutely loved the city. The best part was seeing the city on a boat cruise around Manhatten. Really beautiful. We got really close to the statue of Liberty and she was amazing, though my pictures are pretty grainy. Here’s some of my favorite photos, all taken with my iphone. Happy Monday! xo Jessica
On one of the prettiest days during our trip to St. Maarten we visited Loterie Farms which is such an amazing place. It’s part farm, tree house restaurant, zip lines, hiking trails, pool and natural springs spa, and bar. If you ever go to St. Maarten, I highly recommend this place! It was established in the 1700’s as a sugar plantation as was the majority of the island. Now it employs the locals and provides relaxation and adventure for all ages.
We felt adventurous and hiked to the top of Pic Paradis for about $5 each (you pay as you go per activity you want) then relaxed in the treehouse for some specialty cocktails; I had an island rum mojito and a sex-in-the-treehouse- a delicious strawberry ginger drink. The hot springs and pool area looked amazing but it was a little pricey at $35 a person so we decided to head on over to one of the other 35 beaches we hadn’t been to yet, Friar’s bay beach (one of my top favorite beaches!). Next time, I’d definitely do the pool and catch a yoga class after the hike. You could totally spend the whole day here doing whatever you want; the vibe was so chill!
Once at the top of Pic Paradis, which took about 1.5 hours climbing through rainforest to 1,400 ft, we had a stunning view of the island. The turquoise waters, lush hills and homes in the valley were so beautiful. We met a hermit crab, lizards, some kind of ferret, and hundreds of butterflies along the way. I’ll never forget what a gratifying experience that was.
Last week I was lucky enough to take a trip with my dad and brother D.J. to visit our brother Michael who is stationed at a marine base in New York. We took a dinner cruise around Manhatten and saw the Brooklyn bridge, the Statue of Liberty and the Freedom Tower. It was so breathtakingly beautiful. We ate authentic Italian cuisine in Queens and had a yummy breakfast at a cute diner called Georgia’s. We saw some interesting sights in TImes square; did you know it’s legal for women to be topless there? Well, that’s what they said…I love New York and can’t wait to go back someday. I’d love to see Central Park and a broadway show next time. Have you been?
It’s been a week since I’ve written! I’ve had computer issues and now I’m visiting family and trying to pack in seeing everyone in a week is tough! I sure am super grateful to be here and soaking it up. I thought I could share some pictures from our visit to new Orleans today those streets were so charming an brimming with character. Have a lovely Thursday!
